Local Production for COVIDaction

Funding opportunity! Local production for COVIDaction

Receive up to £50,000  in the COVIDaction Call for Local Production Response due to the disruption of global supply chains in response to the COVID-19 crisis

DFID’s Frontier Technology Hub COVIDaction team, in partnership with AfriLabs and the Royal Academy of Engineering, is seeking innovative approaches to shorten supply chains, pivot manufacturing, source raw materials and create new products to address demand in Low- and Middle-Income Countries.

The aim of the
Local Production call for applications is to source local manufacturing and production of life-saving, critical personal protective equipment (PPE) as well as day-to-day items that would normally be imported. We’d particularly like to hear from innovative makerspaces, informal community groups who have pivoted their line of work for C-19 response.

Applicants could receive up to £50,000 in grant funding, access to technical experts and match-making to DFID programmes, potential to be published in a virtual showcase and more.
