Emerging Valley Summit, together with the AEIP

On 7-8 April 2021, Emerging Valley is organising the summit that attracts a range of stakeholders in Europe and Africa, including investors, start-ups and emerging digital ecosystems that want to increase their international appeal, expand their business relationships and accelerate their impact on a global scale.

As a real gateway between African and European tech, Emerging Valley is a unique opportunity to:
- Discover new innovative territories emerging in the south
– Explore and invest in the digital solutions of tomorrow by connecting with African tech champions
- Collaborate to build scaling strategies between Africa, the Mediterranean and Europe

Webinar #1: Better understanding venture capital on the startup and incubator side

The main objective of the webinar will be to improve the level of understanding of African tech hubs and start-ups about venture capitalist, its juridical aspects, and the different tools to maintain a perfect network and a good relation with investors. Participants will also learn the different steps and type of funding regarding the size of the organization.

Webinar #2: Corporate Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Open Innovation Startups-Large Groups

The main objective of the webinar will be to improve the level of understanding of African tech hubs and start-ups about the concept of intrapreneurship and its difference regarding entrepreneurship. Participants will get to know more about the different types and stages of innovation in the organization and how to apply them regarding the size of the enterprise. They will also learn how to boost the intrapreneurial spirit in their employees thanks to the book written by the speaker.

In addition, the AEIP will organise a virtual networking session on 8th April that brings together a total of 12 tech hubs – 4 from Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), 4 from Europe and 4 from Middle East & North Africa (MENA) tech hubs. 

The 12 selected tech hubs will have the opportunity to be matched to counterparts from the other two regions in order to discuss and outline mutually beneficial collaborative activities i.e., from soft-landing partnershipsmentorship programs, exchange on best practices, apply for joint funding opportunities, and connect some of their portfolio startups developing similar solutions.

This will be a 2.5-hour tech hub networking session moderated by the AEIP Service Facility Team. The session will start with a round of introductions, followed by 2 one-on-one tech networking breakout sessions, and finally conclude with brief announcements by the tech hubs pairs on their partnership agreements.
